I've just come across this article, and I have to say once again Colin appears to be very candid in his comments (if indeed the comments are correct). A couple of his response's did concern me slightly, but I know how it easy it to misread something or relate to it out of context. However, I think it certainly ties in with some of the tone of the comments that people have been making on the previous post: such as celebrities do indeed live in a different world... and money is not really an issue for them... and do they really care about the self-imagine they present to the rest of society?!"I'm so excited for the little one to arrive. ARTICLE BY THE PRESS ASSOCIATION:Colin Farrell has said that he feels secure bringing a new life into modern society.
At a Q&A session in Toronto, the Irish actor said he doesn't think the world is any more dangerous now than it has been throughout history.
As to his own philosophy on fatherhood, the 33-year-old appeared to be taking things in his stride: "Just do your best and hopefully it will be alright," he said.
Early this week it was confirmed that Colin's girlfriend, polish actress Alicja Bachleda was expecting a child - Farrell's second.
The baby is due early next year, and it appears the Irish actor can't wait.
"I'm so excited for the little one to arrive. I'm not going any further past the point of arrival," he said.
As to the society the child will be born into, Colin seems unconcerned over reports of rising violence.
"I think the world has always been an incredibly dangerous place," he said.
But he added that his little part of it was relatively safe.

ReplyDeleteShe would had to have been only one week pregnant (or one DAY) in that airport photo op if the baby is to be born next April, which is what I've been reading online as the "due date". I'm guessing February at the very latest. What did he mean by "not going any further past the point of arrival?" What question did they ask him? I do believe he is genuinely excited because I think he loves kids. Though I think it's sad to have kids all over the place with separate mothers, having to spread his time even thinner. I don't mean sad for him. I mean sad for the kids involved.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this movie will be any good. I think it probably would have been. His movies in recent years have all been good. But now with this personal life reality show drama surrounding the whole thing, I wonder if I'll be able to watch it and get lost in the story. Doubtful.

It says film postponed until the Spring, but according to Colin the baby is due in April!I thought as a general rule you were not supposed to announce pregnancies during the early stages. The pictures at LAX airport show she is about 6 months gone. This is so confusing, can anybody help?

ReplyDeleteIt's obvious something was going on back during the filming, whether Colin was with EF or not. They broke up in October or Nov of last year and I think he and ABC got together right after that. Talk about not wasting time!

The question he was asked was about if he imagines sitting down and watching "these kinds of movies" with his new kid or something like that. And he said he didn't even imagine sitting down with the kid yet. He's hasn't imagined anything past the point of arrival. I think that means he's taking things as they come. Remember he has another child who was born with special needs. That was very unexpected and his boy has been a huge blessing in his life. So I really think he meant he's just waiting to meet his new child. I don't think the comment had to do with ABC at all or where he sees THEIR future headed. I don't think CF has the ability to be happy with one woman, the same woman, for very long, but I do think he loves being a dad.

He has also looked in love with every other girlfriend he's ever been photographed with. Romance, infatuation and the warm fuzzies are not love or commitment. I have read a very good book, Women who Run with the Wolves, it has archetypes of women in fairy tales. It also has a very similar tale to what is in Ondine. About a fisherman who fishes out a skeleton woman. I would think it is a parallel story.
Perhaps Neil Jordan read it too... and that's where his inspiration for 'Ondine' came from?

I think it would hurt him alot, and we are just fans venting, that's all it is. We're a bit frustrated, I guess, and concerned and maybe confused. And a little mad at him too. We are coming to the realization (or conclusion), that he very likely had one leg in EF's bed and one in ABC's (or was at least laying the groundwork there). That's disappointing. Not even so much because "poor Emma" but because we don't want to think of him as THAT guy... anymore. We also don't want to see him get used and we don't trust ABC. The story was about 10 or 15 screenwriters. The timing had nothing to do with Odine or the announcement of the pregnancy. Emma is showing she has class by staying quiet. It isn't her business. I quess everyone would prefer she go all Aniston and hold regular press conferences about getting dumped- not assuming Emma got dumped btw. Who knows but I think she's been treated badly for too long already. She didn't try to trap him or do anything to hurt him. ABC is another story- seriously lacking in class and pretty dumb to let this man of all men get her pregnant on purpose or by accident. And I like him. ReplyDeleteI'm ashamed of myself for my participation in any of these discussions. That is NOT a slam toward anyone here or anything anyone is thinking or feeling. It's directed toward myself and my own thoughts. I just thought I would admit it.
ReplyDeleteMy mind has run the gamut of what-ifs, like everyone else, both ends of the spectrum, everything from one extreme to the other... from "he's a male whore with no respect, cheated on EF" to "ABC is an opportunist and a famewhore who laid a trap" bla bla bla... all these things we are guessing at. Let's not forget the possibility that it was just a night of love-making (and yes I know we could debate love-making versus sex until the cows come home), that resulted in an unplanned pregnancy. For whatever reason... no condom, no pill, whatever.
Clearly our fan-ship goes beyond just liking his movies. Right or wrong, entitled or not, we care about his personal life. I'm not suggesting we end the discussion, or that we deny ourselves our concerns, either our concerns for him, or ABC's fans their concerns for her. I'm just wanting to inject a little compassion into the conversation. That's all. He is a human being. And even if the worst of what everyone seems to be suspecting ABC of is true (famewhore, trapping him yada yada), she's still a human being too. I don't know anything about her, so I'll just limit my thoughts to him. Even if the worst of what people are saying about him is true (an un-reformable player, cheater, won't use protection, male whore, no respect for women bla bla bla... and it's none of my business if the man uses a condom, really it's not) -- even still, he is a human being.
Someone in the comments above was going on and on about Karma. If it exists, then it applies to everyone, just like a law of nature or spiritual law. It even applies to us and the things we are putting out into the universe toward Colin, whether we are speaking them, writing them, or just thinking them. And by the way, they are not helping him, but hurting him, along with hurting ourselves. Even if he never reads a word of anything that's said about him, it's still hurting him, because it's being put out there. I don't believe that's what we really want to do. And even if it's ALL true, that "poor Colin" and "she scored a big fish" and "she trapped him" and on and on, we are STILL hurting HIM by nailing her to a frickin cross over it. And we can disapprove of a person's behavior, their qualities which we do not admire, or some of their choices, without making excuses for them, but ALSO without crucifying them. We COULD choose to respond out of the love and fan-ship we have for him.
He's a human being. That means he has faults and flaws, he has the potential to act selfishly, he makes mistakes, he does things that are "wrong." It means he has feelings. Those can be hurt. It also means he has goodness in him. And anyone who has been a fan for any length of time, knows he has MANY good qualities, and we've witnessed them in action. We all know this, and I realize no one is suggesting that he doesn't. But maybe we could focus on those and cut him some slack. Maybe we could cut ABC some too.
I think the big confusion here is WHY she got pregnant so soon. Was it planned from both sides? was it an accident? Was it a trick, on Alija's part because she didn't want to risk losing him? She may have told him she was on the pill but was n't. It is all speculation at the end of the day. For whatever reason they all show that Alicja has not got her head screwed on. The same goes for Colin apart from the last reason and if that reason is the case I can only admire the way he has dealt with everything.

10:10 The post is colin talks about the pregnancy. He is a adult male in the public spotlight, and knew the blogs would run hot after the announcement. I have also read the above post, and have found very few nearly as offensive as you seem to feel they are. Most are people speculating, and putting to type what most everyone is already thinking or pondering. I have not seen bad wishes wished toward them. Most simply agree that a couple bringing a child into the world so early in a relationship, probably wasnt the best idea. Yes we speculate, and yes if manipulation was played ,shame on that party. If not so be it. Only they know how the child was conceived and that is thier right. Have a little compassion yourself 10:10 for the bloggers and try and read the board more carefully. ReplyDeleteWhat does concern me here, is the baby's welfare, what will happen to the baby when they are both working in different countries concentrating on their fim career? have they even thought of that? It frustrates me how lightly they have taken this decision and colins comments demonstrates this. It frustrates me even more when some people support it. A child needs to be brought up in a STABLE environment, the world is getting tougher. I'm not even talking about the violence, I'm talking about this childs psychological welfare. Some people are going to think this pregnancy should n't concern me but when it comes to children it DOES concern me.

ReplyDeleteCould you honestly say this is a secure relationship to bring a baby into. How do they know if they are even right for each other? At 33 I am sure Colin is very aware of the 'honeymoon period' at the start of a relationship. What an incredible amount of pressure he must be going through. It's not exactly a recipe for a healthy relationship is it?
WOW... this post is certainly demonstrating how we ALL have an opinion on this pregnancy... even though we ALL know that it has nothing to do with us personally, and nothing we say can make any difference. It does however prove that we ALL feel something towards Colin or Alcija as people, and shows our concern over the pregnancy, whether it be right or wrong, otherwise why would we bother to comment at all?
ReplyDeleteAnd for me this is clear verification that at least people feel they can have a voice on the blog, and this makes me happy, as this is why I set the blog up... so that people could say with honesty what they truly think.
However, that's not say I wish the blog to turn into some kind of bitching, nasty or personal insults on people kind of blog, and I'm pleased that as of yet, I do not consider that this is happening.
I read every comment, and from I what see we are agreeing and disagreeing with each other, asking and answering each others questions... and yes occasionally unable not to have a little dig at each other, but not in what I consider a malicious manner. And that's why I'm hopeful we will continue to comment in this way : - )

EF said she and Colin broke up one week before the Golden Globes.The article may be false, I don't know, but it seems logical to me,since EF wasn't seen with him celebrating. Very weird for a long term girlfriend . I have no idea when he started dating alicja. Some say it was in March/April, in Europe. If the baby is due next January, it was a pretty fast decision. Sounds more like an accident. Lets hope they consider it a blessed accident.

Scary how they can do that... key word search I guess. I wonder if Colin will be there to catch the baby when he's born. My brother fainted but to be fair he'd been going through labor for hours with his wife and when the time and all the gore came big brother went down. His wife was so exhausted and delirious at the time she LAUGHED hysterically before she started crying realizing baby daddy could be hurt.

Plus Alicja and Colin went back to Ireland in November to re shoot a part of 'Ondine' Yet he claims he was with somebody else when they were filming. I agree Alicja looked about 6 0r maybe 7 months pregnant at LAX airport. I think the baby will be born sooner than next year. i'm confused somebody help me!
ReplyDeleteI don't think we're going to see a photo of ABC again until after the baby is born. I think they're just going to keep us guessing. Who knows if we'll even hear a timely announcement of the birth. I imagine CF is hoping that people will forget, or that he can sweep this all under the rug, as far as how the timing of it all took place.
ReplyDeleteI think the only reason they pulled the airport stunt is because tiff was coming up. I also think that if the reaction from the media and the public had gone differently, then maybe ABC would not have been kept from attending tiff. When most Hollywood couples get pregnant, the expectant mother doesn't go into hiding. The normal thing would have been for them to appear at tiff TOGETHER, as a couple, arm in arm, joyful, "we're in love." So this was all handled very strange.
I think it's possible CF and EF were already history when it was announced after the golden globes (but who knows for how long) because alot of times break ups happen long before they are announced. I think CF cheated on EF, maybe not full blown sex, but even kissing someone else is cheating. I think CF was mighty defensive to that reporter's question at the news conference. He knew the airport photos were swirling the internet because he and ABC posed for them. He was anticipating questions and he was defensive and a little too ready to pounce if you ask me. But whatever, it's his life.
You really think it's all promotion? Maybe you're right .... maybe he just want to be private - it's nothing wrong in that. Well we can argue as much as we want but we have no clue so only time will tell.

I think the LAX photos were to let the public no in advance of tiff and the general response to those photos by the media and the public is what caused them to decide it would better if she was not at tiff.

1:39 LMFAO! CAA is known for not hanging on to clients who aren't successful. They probably signed her around the time she got Trade. The movie was a flop, reviews were mostly bad and even in the few decent reviews I read her performance was ignored. I watched as much as I could and thought she was dull. Odine didn't exactly set TIFF on fire and the only review I've read where her acting is mentioned the writer said she was something like adequate- ouch. So no stand out performance in her roles in her first two major films, the second being the title role and now she's pregnant. My guess is she'll have to do something spectacular career wise to keep CAA as her agent unless Colin asks for a favor.

Seems to me great musicians/singers are only into their music and great actors are actors. It's rare for anyone to be great at both. I can't think of one out of the many who've tried who has managed to combine the two areas successfully. Even Madonna seems to have (mercifully) given up acting. I'm afraid getting pregnant at this point may have sealed her fate as an A-list actress. But she'll always have Baby Mama #2..
